Insights
Guides for founders in the UAE.
How long does it take to set up a company in the UAE?
Most free zone licences are issued within a few working days once your documents are complete. Mainland setups can take longer where external approvals are needed. Your consultant confirms the timeline for your activity on the first call.
Can I own 100% of a mainland company as a foreign national?
Yes. For most commercial and industrial activities, foreign nationals can now hold full ownership of a mainland company. A small list of strategic activities still carries restrictions, and we check this for you upfront.
Do I need to be in the UAE to set up my company?
Many free zones allow the licence to be issued remotely. You will need to be in the UAE for the visa medical test and Emirates ID biometrics.
Is a free zone cheaper than mainland?
Free zone packages usually start lower, while mainland gives you wider market access. The right choice depends on who your customers are, how many visas you need and whether you need a physical office.
Does my company need to register for corporate tax?
Yes. All UAE companies, including free zone entities, must register for corporate tax with the Federal Tax Authority. We handle registration, filings and VAT where it applies.
