For a consultancy the three Dubai free zones we license most often are DMCC, IFZA and Meydan Free Zone. They serve the same activity and reach very different outcomes on cost, speed and banking.
Cost
IFZA and Meydan start around AED 12,500 to 12,900 for a licence with a flexi desk. DMCC starts around AED 22,000 and rises quickly once you add a physical office, which DMCC requires for larger visa quotas.
Speed
Meydan is fully digital and often issues within days. IFZA is close behind. DMCC involves more steps and physical documentation, typically one to two weeks.
Banking
DMCC carries the strongest name with banks, which matters for trading or larger consultancies. IFZA and Meydan are widely accepted for service businesses with a clear business plan.
Our usual recommendation
Solo consultants and small teams serving international clients: IFZA or Meydan. Consultancies expecting large UAE corporate clients, or planning to raise investment: DMCC. Either way, ask for the three-year cost projection before deciding.
